Police shelve soccer Nazi salute case - Prague Daily Monitor
The Czech police today shelved the investigation of Sparta Praha’s footballer Pavel Horvath over his gesture reminding of the Nazi salute during a first league match, state attorney Petr Cibulka told CTK Tuesday. The police concluded that Horvath did not commit any crime. Leos Vacek, who filed the complaint against Horvath in September, is a member of the far-right National Party. (…) Horvath apologised for the gesture and he distanced from fascism. The National Party said on its website it filed the complaint because it disliked the fact that police decided not to prosecute Horvath, while in other cases indicating the promotion of fascism they proceeded far more actively.
