Barbie ‘boasted of hunting down Che’
Barbie ‘boasted of hunting down Che’ | World | The Observer
The CIA made use of a Nazi war criminal’s anti-guerrilla skills. Oscar-winning British director Kevin Macdonald has raised the intriguing possibility that Che Guevara’s capture by the CIA in the forests of Bolivia 40 years ago was orchestrated by Klaus Barbie, the Nazi war criminal called the ‘Butcher of Lyon’. (…) The Americans had been hunting Guevara and, according to the film, turned to Barbie for his first-hand knowledge of counter-guerrilla warfare: he had attempted to crush the French Resistance and was responsible for the death of its celebrated leader, Jean Moulin. Alvaro de Castro, a longtime confidant of Barbie interviewed for the film, says: ‘He met Major Shelton, the commander of the unit from the US. Altmann [Barbie] no doubt gave him advice on how to fight this guerrilla war. He used the expertise gained doing this kind of work in World War Two. They made the most of the fact that he had this experience.’ (…) Barbie was involved in torture again in Bolivia and dreamed of establishing a Fourth Reich in the Andes. But he was tracked down by Nazi hunters and eventually extradited to France, where he was sentenced to life imprisonment and died in jail in Lyon in September 1991.
Will Smith thinks Hitler was a ‘good’ person
Will Smith thinks Hitler was a ‘good’ person
Will Smith has left everyone shocked after declaring that Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler was essentially a “good” person. The ‘Men In Black’ star is unwavering in his effort to see the best in people, and is certain that the former German leader did not fully understand the extent of the pain and suffering his actions would cause during his time in power in the 1930s and ’40s. “Even Hitler didn’t wake up going, ‘Let me do the most evil thing I can do today’. I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was ‘good,’” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

Jerusalem Latin Patriarch Michel Sabbah:”Establishing a religious state, with a Jewish or Muslim religious character, would exclude the other religion and would treat unjustly the believers of other religions.” The Anti-Defamation League, a world Jewish organization fighting anti-Semitism, said it was deeply disturbed by a pre-Christmas address from the top Roman Catholic cleric in which he rejected Israel as a Jewish state. Latin Patriarch Michel Sabbah, a Palestinian who oversees Catholics in Cyprus, Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian territories, told reporters earlier this week: “If there’s a state of one religion, other religions are naturally discriminated against.”
