Fears of Neo-Nazi Center in Berlin : Swedish Far-Right Businessman Has Bought Berlin Villa – International – SPIEGEL ONLINE – News

Swedish businessman Patrik Brinkmann, regarded as a leading figure in Europe’s far-right scene, has purchased a villa in one of Berlin’s most exclusive areas, DER SPIEGEL has learned. Is a neo-Nazi center being set up in the German capital? (…) Swedish businessman Patrik Brinkmann, 41, is regarded as a leading figure in the international far-right scene. The „Continent Europe Foundation“ he set up counts the upper echelons of Europe’s far-right scene among its members. He has close contacts with neo-Fascists in Spain and Italy, as well as with Germany’s far-right National Democratic Party. (…) Since 2004, Brinkmann has been gathering ultra-right intellectuals from all over Europe in his foundation, which until now has been operating from a post box address (Box 167) in the Swedish town of Jönköping. Among them are far-right professor Pierre Vial from France and the former advisor to Mikhail Gorbachev, professor Wjatcheslav Daschitschev. The blood and soil proponents from Madrid to Moscow share a crude ideology, says the Hamburg branch of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Germany’s domestic intelligence agency. The members of the foundation dream of a white „pan-European civilisation“ to counter the „physical death“ through immigration from other parts of the world and the „political death“ through Americanism, says the agency, which is especially concerned that two NPD activists belong to Brinkmann’s foundation. Lutz Dessau, an author of NPD newspaper „Deutsche Stimme“, is a member of the foundation’s directorate. Former teacher Andreas Molau, member of the NPD’s national executive, is on the foundation’s board. Brinkmann is also believed to be behind a further real estate purchase in Germany. In May 2007, just a few days after Brinkmann had acquired the Berlin villa, Andreas Molau’s wife bought a sizeable manor in the Brandenburg town of Rauen for €200,000. The property appeared to have been bought to house an NPD training center. Mrs Molau was acting on behalf of an obscure Swedish firm that resided at the same post box address „Box 167″ as Brinkmann’s foundation. Molau didn’t want to name who was putting up the money. She said they were „foreign investors“ who wanted to remain anonymous.

Union of Councils for Soviet Jews: Moscow Police Bungle Investigation of Brutal Stabbing

Police in Moscow appear to have bungled their investigation into the stabbing of Denis Tsoy, who suffered 27 knife wounds in a January 2008 attack near Moscow but miraculously survived, according to a July 9, 2008 report by the Sova Information-Analytical Center. Police reportedly resorted to hypnosis in their interrogation of a group of suspects, allegedly members of a neo-Nazi gang, along with more traditional methods of analyzing their cell phone records and gathering testimony from other witnesses.

Holocaust denier convicted of trying to incite race hate online – Yorkshire Post

A MAN who claims accounts of the Holocaust are „exaggerated“ and describes Anne Frank’s diary as „evil“ has been convicted of putting articles on the internet that could stir up race hate. A jury at Leeds Crown Court yesterday found Simon Sheppard, 51, guilty of nine counts of publishing racially inflammatory written material on his website between March 2005 and April 2006. The court heard Sheppard’s website attracts 4,000 visitors a day. Four of the articles were penned by Stephen Whittle, 41, who was yesterday convicted of four counts of publishing racially inflammatory written material. The others included a cartoon by the American cartoonist Robert Crumb and an article written during the 1960s by the leader of the American Nazi Party, George Lincoln Rockwell. ‏

RussiaToday : Features : Russia remembers bloodiest tank battle

The 12th of July marks the 65th anniversary of the largest tank battle in history. In just one offensive at the village of Prokhorovka near Kursk, 400 Nazi tanks were destroyed by the Red Army. The Battle of Kursk, which lasted 50 days, left the Germans severely weakened. One of the German soldiers, Guy Sajer, recalled the famous Prokhorovka battle. He said: „A sight which was like Doomsday appeared before us. New Russian troops were going into action. They were now powerful as never before. Hundreds and thousands of arms were at their disposal. Our laugh would fall silent soon, it would be replaced with triumphant Russian cheers.“ With all the German resources drawn, the Battle of Kursk took place over an area of 40 square kilometres. For Hitler it was the last attempt after Stalingrad to take the initiative from the Red Army. However that wasn’t to happen, as Russian intelligence revealed the strategic plans of the Nazis and worked out the right tactics to combat them. ‏

Romano Vodi – Czech Helsinki Committee alerts Rice to neo-Nazi web pages – News

The Czech Helsinki Committee (CHV) has alerted U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to the existence of Czech neo-Nazis’ web pages that are registered in the United States, in a letter addressed to her early this week when she was visiting Prague. Rice and her Czech counterpart Karel Schwarzenberg signed in Prague on Tuesday the U.S. Czech treaty on stationing a U.S. radar base on Czech soil within the U.S. anti-missile shield. The CHV wrote that Czech neo-Nazis and other similar extreme groups have a free access to Internet servers in the United States irrespective of the intolerant and aggressive character of the posted material.

RussiaToday : Features : Neo-Nazis hijack pro-tolerance campaign

Campaigners in the Czech Republic are using the internet to combat the rise in racism in the country. But neo-Nazi groups are finding crafty ways of spreading their ideas. When the Czech charity ‘People in Need’launched a campaign against neo-Nazism, it was in for a surprise. Its website was parodied by right-wing extremists in a counter-attack. The People in Need website criticises neo-Nazi activities and pokes fun at their behaviour. „Who wants a neo-Nazi?“ their slogan says. The extremists’ website is a replica but carrying quite a different message: „Who wants an immigrant next door?“ It’s attacking people from foreign backgrounds and promoting xenophobic intolerance.-

Romano Vodi – ERTF PressPelease: Protest NOTE toward Italian Gouvernment – News

Mr Rudko Kawczynski, President of the European Roma and Travellers Forum, delivered to Mr Pietro Lonardo, Permanent Representative of Italy at the Council of Europe a protest note requesting to stop the anti-Roma action of the Italian authorities on fingerprinting Roma living in the camps across the country, brushing aside the concerns of the European Institutions and International organisations. „Similar activities to this one are not only a threat to the Roma community. These activities remind us of the Nazi and Fascist periods in the early 1930s, when Roma/Sinti and Jews were singled out for discrimination and persecution leading finally to the genocide of millions of innocent people. Nowadays this is a serious threat to the future of the Europeans, to democracy and the rule of law“ Mr. Kawczynski wrote in the protest note addressed to the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The protest note, written on behalf of 15 million Roma urges the Italian authorities to stop its anti-Roma activities immediately and to undertake all necessary measures to stop the Anti-Roma pogroms and ensure safe and secure life of all Roma living in Italy as well as the full implementation of international laws and standards.

siehe auch: Italian policies on Roma minority criticised by NGOs. Human rights groups and Roma activists criticized Italy Friday for recent policies targeting the Roma minority, such as fingerprinting and forced evictions. The criticism was levelled at a conference of the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (OSCE).

Swastika Shows Up as Number 1 Search Trend on Google

Swastika Shows Up as Number 1 Search Trend on Google – Switched

We’ve see a lot of crazy search trends on Google and other online search engines, but nothing prepared us for the shocking number one search trend that we saw on Google’s list of top search terms this morning: a Swastika, the Hindu-symbol-of-peace that was then hijacked by the Nazis and mostly now symbolizes….Nazis, neo or otherwise. We first saw news of this on the Drudge Report, which has a screenshot of the symbol appearing as the number one search term. By the time we got to the page, however, it was already down to number 3 (as you can see from our above screen shot, taken this AM). How one even creates a swastika with a computer is beyond us — though we guess you could just cut and paste it into the search field — but this is no doubt the work of hackers or some sort of neo-Nazi Google bomb.

siehe auch: Swastika tops Google searches, then disappears. The swastika, the symbol of Nazism, still provokes strong feelings of fear and anger. So it was something of a shock when late last week the swastika suddenly hit the top of Google’s Hot Trends list, which tracks the 100 terms U.S. Google users are searching for most furiously. It hovered there for several hours, then disappeared from the list.

Lemmy in Nazi investigation

Lemmy in Nazi investigation | musicradar.com

An investigation has reportedly been launched into whether Motörhead frontman Ian Lemmy Kilminster committed a crime under German law by wearing what appears to be a Nazi military cap in a recently published photo. The picture appeared in a German newspaper prior to Motörheads 5 July, Wacken Rocks Seaside concert in Aurich, Germany, with Machine Head and Saxon. All „anti-constitutional propaganda“ – and specifically any attempt to propagate Nazism – is illegal under German law. Article 86a of the German Penal Code prohibits all „anti-constitutional“ symbols, including all Nazi insignia, flags, slogans and salutes. „The decision whether to take the matter further lies with the public prosecutors office,“ confirmed police press agent Sabine Kahmann. Lemmy has long had an avid interest in collecting Nazi memorabilia, but in 2007 he told the Times Online his hobby was not at all suspect. „Im not racist at all,“ he argued. „I just like the decorative aspect of the Nazis. I like the pageantry, the pomp. I like a parade. The bad guys always have the best uniforms.“

siehe auch: Lemmy’s Nazi Hat Collection Gets Him In Trouble. It’s not particularly surprising to hear that Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister has a large collection of Nazi paraphernalia. Umlaut enthusiasts who write songs named „Killed By Death“ and title their albums Bomber and 1916 should be expected to have an interest in the darker aspects of world history. That said, there’s little excuse for wearing a Nazi cap in a photo promoting an upcoming show in a Germany—and thanks to that little whoopsie, the Warted One is now under criminal investigation.
