Verhöhnung statt Versöhnung
Um die Bundesstiftung Flucht, Vertreibung, Versöhnung hat es von Anfang an Streit gegeben. Im Februar dieses Jahres schien er beigelegt, nachdem Erika Steinbach, Vorsitzende des Bundes der Vertriebenen, auf einen Sitz im Stiftungsrat verzichtet hatte. Als Gegenleistung erhielt der Vertriebenenbund sechs statt bisher drei Sitze. Außerdem gab die Bundesregierung ihr Vetorecht bei der Auswahl künftiger Mitglieder auf. Am 8. Juli ernannte nun der Bundestag die Mitglieder des Stiftungsrats und deren Stellvertreter. Aber auch damit ist der Konflikt nicht beendet. Professor Raphael Gross, Direktor des Fritz Bauer Instituts in Frankfurt und Mitglied im wissenschaftlichen Beraterkreis der Bundesstiftung Flucht, Vertreibung, Versöhnung, hat sich die Besetzung des Stiftungsrats genau angesehen – und fand Fragwürdiges. Mit Gross sprach Arno Widmann.
Brauner Wortmüll
Im Rahmen der Recherche zur aktuellen Geschichte über den Sohn der blauen Präsidentschaftskandidatin Barbara Rosenkranz hatte ich das zweifelhafte Vergnügen, auch Nazi-Gruppen auf Facebook zu durchforsten. Ganz so, als gäbe es in Österreich kein NS-Verbotsgesetz oder den Straftatbestand der Verhetzung, wird dort massenhaft brauner Wortmüll verbreitet. Und zwar auch von Österreichern, die sich nicht einmal hinter Pseudonymen verstecken.
Neo-Nazis to Rally in Michigan
A post on Stormfront, a website for neo-Nazis and white supremacists, announces a July 31 rally on the steps of the Midland County Courthouse. Scheduled to speak is Randy Gray, who was elected as a GOP precinct delegate in 2008. He was stripped of that position after he showed up the day after the election on the streets of Midland in his KKK robes protesting the election of Barack Obama. Also scheduled to speak is James Wickstrom, a longtime member of the Christian Identity movement. Wickstrom claims that only white people were created in the image of God and only white people have souls. He also claims that Jews are the „children of Satan“ and that white, Western Europeans are the true Israelites favored by God. Wickstrom lives in Rhodes, Michigan.A third speaker is Jeff Schoep, „commander“ of the National Socialist Movement which has its headquarters in Detroit. His organization wants a United States made up only of those with „pure White blood“ — and no Jews or homosexuals allowed.
Das Oktoberfestattentat war kein Werk eines Einzeltäters
Interview mit Tobias von Heymann über sein Buch „Die Oktoberfest-Bombe. – die Tat eines Einzelnen oder ein Terror-Anschlag mit politischem Hintergrund?“ – Teil 1 Am 26. September 2010 jährt sich zum dreißigsten Mal der [local] Bombenanschlag auf das Oktoberfest. Der schlimmste Terror-Akt der deutschen Nachkriegsgeschichte forderte dreizehn Menschenleben. Über 200 Menschen wurden zum Teil schwer verletzt. Ende September 1980 befand sich das Land in der Hochphase des Bundestagwahlkampfs und der damalige Kanzlerkandidat der CDU/CSU, Franz Josef Strauß beschuldigte sofort Linksextremisten sowie die sozialliberale Koalition, insbesondere den damaligen Bundesinnenminister Gerhart Baum (FDP) für die Tat unmittelbar und indirekt verantwortlich zu sein. Nachdem diese Verdächtigung binnen kürzester Zeit durch die schnelle Identifizierung des Bombenlegers Gundolf Köhler und seiner Zuordnung zum rechtsradikalen Untergrund unhaltbar geworden war, wurde rasch die These von der Einzeltäterschaft Köhlers aufgestellt. Diese hat sich trotz massiver gegenteiliger Zeugenaussagen und erheblichen Zweifels bis zum heutigen Tag als offizielle Erklärung für den Bombenanschlag gehalten. Der Journalist Tobias von Heymann recherchierte zum Oktoberfestattentat für sein [extern] Buch mehrere Jahre in den umfangreichen Akten des über den rechtsextremen Untergrund Westdeutschlands außergewöhnlich gut informierten Geheimdienstes der DDR und sorgte letztes Jahr mit seinen Enthüllungen für eine [local] Kleine Anfrage der GRÜNEN im Bundestag. Telepolis sprach mit dem Autoren. Herr von Heymann, das Fazit ihres [extern] Buches lautet: „Alle bekannte Indizien sprechen aus meiner Sicht heute dafür, dass Gundolf Köhler tatsächlich kein Einzeltäter ist.“

Countries Sign Pact to Fight Anti-Semitism, Holocaust Denial
More than 80 countries signed an agreement to cooperate in the fight against anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial. The Task Force for International Cooperation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance, and Research and the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights signed the agreement at Israel’s Foreign Affairs Ministry. “This agreement is a step that doubles the power of 87 states’ cooperation in the fight against the de-legitimization of Israel and anti-Semitism towards Jews around the world,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon, who signed the agreement on behalf of Israel. “There are those who deny the Holocaust and are preparing for the next Holocaust. We must remember the Holocaust so that the horrors will not return, and we will make the world a safer place.”

Four Russian Neo-Nazis are to be undergo psychiatric examinations, after charges for murder on 27 counts. They are members of the former National Socialist Society, which was formed in January and banned in February, RIA Novosti reported.
Neo-nazi Movement Only 100 Signatures Away from Becoming Political Party
The Patria Nueva Sociedad (PNS), or Homeland New Society, neo-nazi movement only needs 100 signatures to become a constitutionally recognized political party. In August they will table in downtown Santiago to gather the necessary signatures as the Constitutional Court rejected the motion to declare the movement unconstitutional. “We are planning to go downtown, to Paseo Ahumada, so we’ve made a request to the municipality,” PNS leader told online magazine Acción Chilena.Alexis López, president of PNS said they already have about 40 of the 100 signatures they lack. Apart from these, the group already has seven thousand members. The 2006 appeal to the Constitutional Court to outlaw this group was unsuccessful, according to a a ruling issued last month. In that appeal parliamentarians, the Homosexual Liberation Movement (Movilh) as well as the Jewish Youth group accused this movement of various neo-nazi attacks from 2002 to 2006.

GRIFFIN IS FIRST NAZI BANNED FROM PALACE SINCE EDWARD VIII
NICK Griffin last night became the first Nazi to be told he was not welcome at Buckingham Palace since King Edward VIII in 1936. The BNP leader’s invitation to a palace garden party was withdrawn after it was decided the monarch’s official residence should not be a haven for fascists. Again. Amid angry scenes, Mr Griffin was turned away at the palace gates as the Duke of Edinburgh became involved in a shouting match with the Queen’s head of protocol before being dragged away by the Grenadier Guards. A spokesman said: „Buckingham Palace has never been a platform for individuals with fascist political views. Okay, maybe once or twice. Alright, five or six. Okay, about 20 or 30 times. Fine, 300 times. But that’s it.“

Griffin hatte die Einladung im Internet als „politischen Durchbruch“ für die BNP bezeichnet und Parteimitglieder um Fragen an Königin Elizabeth II. gebeten. Der Rechtspopulist war zunächst eingeladen worden, weil er gewähltes Mitglied des Europäischen Parlaments ist.

Paris Hilton strongly denies enacting a Nazi salute after a photo snapped of her Sunday night shows the heiress wearing a military-style hat, holding her finger under her nose and pointing her hand upward in a Heil Hitler-like salute. The heiress was partying aboard a luxury yacht in Saint-Tropez, France. Hilton, 29, came under fire from fans shortly after the picture emerged online, but her spokesman adamently denies that the „Simple Life“ star was simulating a salute, explaining that the photo was merely taken out of context.

Now, this photo is simply going to take the cake. It caused Jesse James to lose some credibility, but will it do the same for Paris? Only time will tell.

Feds question local supremacist over threat
Self-proclaimed local white supremacist leader Brian Moudry apparently doesn’t care much for his mailman either. Federal postal inspectors paid Moudry, 33, a visit after he allegedly threatened to plant a bomb in a letter carrier’s truck on Saturday morning. This wasn’t the first time federal agents questioned Moudry — he was grilled throughout a full day in March 2005 about his possible involvement in the execution-style slayings of the husband and mother of U.S. District Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow. The FBI believed Matt Hale, the „Pontifex Maximus,“ or supreme leader, of the racist group to which Moudry belonged, had ordered the hit. The feds were wrong, and Moudry said at the time that he „had pretty solid alibis“ anyway. When reached by telephone earlier this week, Moudry gave no alibi for 11:36 a.m. July 17, which was right about when he was allegedly menacing his mail carrier. Instead of coming up with an excuse, he said, „Joe (Hosey), get a real (expletive) job, man,“ then hung up the phone. According to a police report, Moudry’s postal problems stemmed from his having stopped his mail delivery and then becoming upset when he could not figure out how to start it again.

Jews in fight against weekend Nazis
The Jewish community has been encouraged to come up with solutions to stop Nazi impersonators from infiltrating Second World War re-enactment events across the UK. The general manager of the East Lancashire Railway, Andy Coward, said this week that he welcomed ideas on how to stop the imitators. The heritage railway came under pressure from Manchester’s Jewish community to ban dozens of actors who were spotted wearing Nazi insignia at its May event. It sparked angry complaints from local Jewish politicians.
Judge faces anti-Semitism probe after speech attacking Israel helps free arms factory protesters
A senior judge was under investigation yesterday after being accused of making anti-Semitic remarks in court that may have swayed his jury into acquitting a group of protesters. Judge George Bathurst-Norman was said by critics to have persuaded a jury to clear a group of campaigners who smashed up a factory making parts for Israeli warplanes. Summing up in the criminal damage trial, he compared Israel to the Nazi regime and accused the country of ignoring international law. The judge added that ‘there may be much to be admired’ about the chief protester, and that ‘in the last war he would probably have received a George Medal’.
Peres: Croatian WWII camp was a show of `sadism’
Touring the site of Croatia’s World War II concentration camp, Israeli President Shimon Peres said Sunday it was a demonstration of „sheer sadism“ and that Iran’s president, who has denied the Holocaust, should visit it. Peres and Croatian President Ivo Josipovic toured Jasenovac, where a memorial honors about 85,000 of Jews, Serbs, Gypsies and anti-fascist Croats who died here in 1941-45 at the hands of Croatia’s pro-Nazi regime. Thousands of people also were deported from Croatia to Nazi-run camps where they died. (…) Jasenovac, the worst of about 40 camps in Croatia at the time, didn’t have a gas chamber. Inmates, including the elderly and children, were killed with guns, knives and hammers. Many were tortured or starved to death. About 30,000 Jews died in Croatia during the war, most of the Jewish community’s prewar population. Peres said Croatian pro-Nazi guards „were not as elaborate and organized as Germans and that he believed the Nazis forced Croats to be brutal. „I think they wanted them to have a demonstration of sheer sadism,“ he said.

Peres noted that the camp was different from many others in two ways: firstly, because most of its victims were not Jewish, but rather were ethnic Serbs, Roma, and Croatian opponents of fascism; and secondly, due to the “sheer sadism” of the camp, whose victims were often killed with knives, hammers and stones. Many victims were tortured. An estimated 30,000 Jews – 75 percent of Croatia’s pre-war Jewish population – were murdered during the Holocaust.
Far-rightists march in support of convicted skinhead
About 150 far right’s fans marched through Svitavy this afternoon in support of Vlastimil Pechanec, a skinhead who serves a prison sentence for murdering a Romany. As a march against racism was held in the same town earlier Saturday, the authorities are afraid that a possible conflict may broke out between participants in the two events. Chanting slogans such as „This is no law-abiding state,“ „Political trials“ and „Pechanec is no murderer,“ the supporters of the extreme right have arrived at Svitavy’s central square where speeches are to be delivered. The march has been accompanied by mounted police and watched by a police helicopter. Earlier this afternoon, about 30 opponents of racism marched through Svitavy, including members of anti-fascist and anti-racism groupings and also young communists and other left-wing supporters. They were joined by local Romanies. The anti-racism march stopped at the night club where Pechanec in 2001 stabbed a 30-year-old Romany, Ota Absolon, twice in his abdomen. Absolon was rushed to hospital but succumbed to the fatal injury.
