A ten-year-old Asian boy was “dragged” into a building site in Fishponds and assaulted by two boys, aged 11 and 12, in what police believe was a racially motivated attack. The boy was discovered off Station Avenue South at about 6pm on Monday by a member of the public. He was taken to Bristol Children’s Hospital with injuries to his face and body, but was later discharged. Pictures posted on Facebook by his family show him with a bloodied face and hands, and marks on his body. Police said they were treating the incident as racially motivated due to the words allegedly used by the two offenders. The victim’s aunt said he was “dragged into the building” and was “kicked, punched and hit against the scaffolding” during the attack. Detective Inspector Steve Cartlidge added that two boys have been identified and are awaiting a formal interview. The victim is due to be video interviewed to gain a full picture of what happened.
