Man dragged to ground and kicked in race attack on way home from LIMF

Man and woman also racially abused by teenage girls during ordeal. A man was dragged to the ground and repeatedly kicked in a race hate attack as he walked home from the Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF). Police have launched an investigation into the attack which also saw the man and a woman the man was with racially abused.
The victims were set upon around 9pm on Sunday, July 24 as they made their way home on Jericho Lane after the LIMF festival in Sefton Park . They passed a group of two girls and four boys by the entrance to Otterspool Park. Police said the two girls followed the victims and shouted racial abuse. The man had his hair pulled and an attempt was made to punch him in the face. He was pushed to the floor by an unknown third person and repeatedly kicked by the girls and one of the boys, causing cuts and grazes. Both victims managed to run towards shops on Aigburth Road where they flagged down a passing police car. Extensive enquiries have been ongoing to trace the suspects.
